Volunteer

Our Volunteers are vital in helping us keep our service up and running and meeting the needs of the clients who we support.

Below are the roles which we currently have available.

Volunteer First Stage Advice Worker

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to assist residents with the completion of relevant forms, or signpost to any other assistance needed within the generic term ‘advice provision.

You will be a point of contact within the community to assist/support people to overcome their barriers in engaging with the range of local services to enable them to fully participate and make a positive difference to their community.

You will be expected to provide a professional customer service, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with confidently, courteously and most importantly confidentially.

Volunteer Admin Support

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to support our Administration team with the day-to-day tasks to ensure that everything runs smoothly. This role may involve welcoming clients face-to-face, answering the telephone, filing, scanning, sorting post, typing up information and dealing with referrals.

If you’re looking for an exciting opportunity to give back to the community and think you have the skills and background that would be a good fit with West View Advice & Resource Centre, then we would love to hear from you!

Our Board of Trustees meets bi-monthly and makes key decisions for the charity, in addition to driving the longer term strategy of the organisation. We are particularly interested in hearing from people from minority groups, those who have used our services in the past, or those with experience of working in the charity sector. West View Advice and Resource Centre Limited (WVARC) was established in 1983 to provide advice and information to individuals and groups in Hartlepool.

We currently offer a mixture of face to face and telephone appointments and home visits are available for those who are strictly housebound.
