Cancer Support Group

Our cancer support group is open to individuals touched by any type of cancer. So whether you are currently living with cancer or recovering from treatment you are more than welcome!

The group exists to give those living with cancer, as well as their family, friends and carers, support and companionship on their cancer journey.

Our friendly group meets every Tuesday from 10:00 to 12:00am in the Community Centre. We have a mix of men and women who come along, of varying ages, and with different cancer diagnoses. Sessions are very relaxed, filled with positivity and laughter and offer a chance to chat to others in a similar position.

No RSVP is necessary, just come along! You are welcome to bring a friend of family member with you. Teas and coffees will be available.

Call Claire Cox on (01429) 271275 for more information.

Membership of HFIP is free and is open to all organisations from the voluntary, community, public and private sectors that provide advice services or who signpost or refer Hartlepool residents to advice services.

The Mission Statement of HOP collects up all the ability, capacity, energy and imagination of a large, diverse and dynamic VCSE sector. A sector mobilised to imagine a better future, address the issues Hartlepool is facing and building on its assets, it’s people, communities, organisations, buildings and amazing geography.

  • identify the future we all want to see
  • map and acknowledge skills, resource, capability and capacity
  • collaborate in an inclusive and effective way
  • create even greater impact
  • achieve more through effective inter sector working
  • influence policy and practice
  • and to enable larger and more joined up projects and initiatives

We are looking forward to building closer, trust based, relationships with all of our communities, with colleagues in all sectors.
